I suppose I should say that this is a SciFi-ish NeoVictorian Cyber-jet-Diesel-punk kind of setting... an alternative world where present day / slightly futuristic tech mixes with a NeoVictorian Puritanism... with morals police and so forth.
Yes... those words that don't seem quite right are slang... It's Victorian Sexual Slang... or at least according to sources it is supposed to be. Some of it rolls off the tongue so well... We don't have much in the way of artful metaphor these days.
